HB 43 and SB 110 are identical bills that would establish a Pastor Protection Act and allow wedding services business owners to refuse services to couples based on religious beliefs. HB 43 both passed the House and was substituted for on the Senate floor for SB 110 on March 2, 2016. The two bills passed the Senate on March 3, and have now been sent to Governor Rick Scott.
This bill, which was originally a bill that would allow government employees to refuse to grant marriage licenses based on religious beliefs, was amended to a state FADA by the House committee on March 3, 2016.
