Despite yesterday's warning from North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory, the Charlotte City Council went ahead and passed an LGBT anti-discrimination bill last night.
From Buzzfeed News:
The Charlotte City Council passed an LGBT nondiscrimination bill on Monday night in a 7 to 4 vote — despite North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory issuing a stern warning that the state may intervene to negate the city’s ordinance.
Gov. McCrory said in an email to city officials on Sunday that state lawmakers may take “immediate” action to block Charlotte’s new law. However, his office declined to speculate on what action the legislature could take.
